Elizabeth Shaw
Teacher
At 16 as Elizabeth was volunteering at a kids arts program on Saturdays, God laid it on her heart to be a teacher and she has continued to follow His path. She has had the privilege of teaching in public and private schools, homeschool classes, private tutoring, and of course her own 2 kids.
Her family is a second-generation homeschool family and has been in the homeschool community for 30+ years. Her parents started this homeschool journey when she was in the 6th grade and they continued through graduation. After high school, she furthered her education at Texas A&M University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Once her own kids came school-age, she and her husband decided to homeschool and continue to be part of this amazing community.
Elizabeth and Tim met when just 11 years old at church and grew up with their families being friends and hanging out. They did not date and marry until college and shortly after college they grew their family with 2 children and several pets over the years. She spends most of her free time supporting her son in theater, her daughter in English horseback riding and catching a broadway show when she can. The Shaw family loves animals and currently has 3 dogs, Charlie, Mercy, Archer, a guinea pig named Sully, and a hamster named Stripes.
